AOL 5 & 6 Problem with Corp Networked PC

I seem to remember,last year,a warning about installing AOL 5.0 on a PC that had a network client installed.
AOL would “takeover” and change certain client settings that would prevent the PC from functioning on the corporate network.
Has this been corrected on 6.0 ?
I did experience the problem with the 5.0.
Up to now I may have had the problem on one
laptop.
