AOL 9.0 Internet Access Control

by eronf845 . Updated 19 years, 2 months ago

Scanning related threads, I see this is a common problem. While attempting to solve a related matter on a friends computer, I inadvertently installed their ‘Parental Controls’ via an executable residing within one of their many parent directories. Consequently the program is not listed in AOL’s subset of Windows’ program access and defaults. To complicate matters, the victim will not remove AOL for fear of losing his settings and files. (This is a closed matter.)

The culpret is a lovely executable called ‘aolsoftware’. If someone has a msdos script to zap it, it would be much appreciated. Having called AOL’s tech support to no avail, I am at my wit’s end. Aaaagh!!
