Aol Instant Messenger problem w/ Router

by supz . Updated 23 years, 1 month ago

Hello. I have a wireless network at home using Linksys products, the WEP11s4 router I believe its called and the Linksys WUSB11 adapters. i have 2 computers currently connected on this network. The main computer is attached to the router using a straight through Cat5 cable, and the modem is plugged into the WAN port. On my computer which is wireless, I am able to use AOL instant messenger just fine…But on the one directly connected to the router, I cannot use it. I was able to use it briefly, after I first had set the network up and was up & running, but since then I have not been able to use it, or an alternative, Trillian. I believe however that Yahoo messenger works just fine…Does anyone happen to know the problem, as to why I am always recieving errors that I cannot connect to aol instant messenger? It reads “the aim service cannot be reached”…Any help would be much appreciated. Offering many points. Thank you
