Apache 2.2 installation error

I am trying to install Apache server in my XP pro. I installed couple time and it say “Windows could not start the Apache2.2 on Local computer…”
and when i click on icon on systray it say apache 2.2 but when i click on start it says “requested service failed”
Can somebody help me where am i mistaking to install.
