Hi everyone. I need help regarding an OS I know absolutely nothing about. One of our clients uses an Apple Mac PC. His OS is OSX 10.3.9. He uses the default Mail program that came with the OS.
The email I got from him says that the option under “Preferences” is ticked to remove the messages from the server after downloading them to his PC. Only problem is this is not happening…
The emails were removed from our mailserver while he was still using a dialup connection, but since switching over to ADSL September ’07 the Mail program does not delete the emails from his mailbox after downloading them.
We have contacted Apple, they have not been able to supply an answer my boss is satisfied with. According to them the problem is on our mailserver.
The only problem with their answer is all our other clients run the Windows OS whilst using either Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook, nobody has this problem.
Can anybody please give me advise on whether there are any other options that can be enable/disable/changed? Please don’t ask me what software or type of mailserver we run, because the chances of options being changed on the server are 0.
Thank you for any advice you are able to give.
Kind regards
Deon Meyer
