Ok, It’s a new year, new opportunities for cruelty to minors and such. What did you do with your April Fools day?
My wife and I decided last night to play a joke on our kids. We have our kids to school before 7:30 in the morning Monday through Friday. Saturday evening, we decided that Sunday (April Fools day) was going to be Monday.
We started out at 6:45 (we normally get them up around 6:00) and told the kids that we overslept and had to move fast. The older one said, through a sleepy fog, that he was sure it was only Sunday but we insisted. We had their clothes laid out for them and breakfast set. During breakfast, the older one lamented that they must have gone through April first without playing any jokes on each other… he felt that it was just unfair. After rushing through breakfast and hurrying to the car we took a moment to breathe in the car.
Then we asked them if they knew what day it was. It took a while to settle in but the result was great. They had been totally bamboozled.
I know that there are a few folks who are somewhat more cruel that I am so…
