Scenario:Server 2000, Exchange Enterprise 2000: I have tape(s) from a backup of Exchange from a large organisation we support, I need to restore one store to be able to extract one mailbox of a user who has lost all her information – I need to do this off site in a lab environment. I have built a server of the same spec, with the same name, IP address and domain, seup exchange with the same store structure, and created the same admin users / passwords as the live box.
I installed ArcServe 11.0, again same as live, and tried to restore the store. I can restore flat files to my heart’s content, but everytime I try to restore the store, I get a ‘Bad username or password’ stop error in the log. I’ve checked the ‘This store can be overwritten by a restore’ box, and dis-mounted it, but no matter what I do, I get the same error – anyone got any ideas, apart a change in career paths?
