Are there any ColdFusion 8 developers out there?

I am an IT manager for the Federal Government who is interested in hiring a ColdFusion developer with Oracle and Solaris experience. I am concerned that this may not be a very popular programming language because of the low numer of applicants that responded to the last vacancy announcement. Can anyone shed light on this situation for me?
