Are WLANs security menaces?

Do you side with Mike in his depiction of WLANs as wireless menaces, as featured in the Aug. 28 Network Security newsletter? What products do you recommend for curbing the security risks of WLANs? Have you tried the Wireless Security Auditor, NetStumbler, AirSnort, WEPCrack, or any Sniffer Technologies’ software? If so, what are your impressions of the product or products?
