Asset Tracking

I am looking for low budget or free asset tracking/barcoding software to keep track of nearly 200 computers/printers. Is there such a software that would create a barcode label with some indentifiable number on it that when called up with a barcode scanner will open up possibly an Access database with all inventory information in an editable format? As inventory information, I would like: computer name, IP, Network printers, users, serial number, MAC address, peripherals, make, model, and a notes section with auto stamping the time and date of any note added(to keep track of incidents). Is this out there or can it simply be created? Please help to point me in the right direction.
