Assigning NEtwork Printers

I am a teacher who is incharge of the IT facilities at our school. We have 40 teachers and 350 students. Recently we installed Windows 2000 Server and 30 XP PRO PCs. We have 2 network printers (JetDirect). As you can see, each PC would have many users. What I need to achieve is that when each user logs onto a client PC the printers are available. At present if I setup a printer share on a local PC (logged on as administrator), the printer is not visible when I log on as a user. Your suggestions would be most welcome. Thank you
