Authenticate over VPN

We have a remote office that has 10 +/- users.

There is 3 shifts, each shift has 3 – 5 ppl working.

We would like to add the remote PCs to our domain so they can authenticate when the login, but we dont want to put a DC at their location. We have a 4Mb DSL connection to them. Is that link too slow for authentication??
