Auto detect if vga is present

by mads . Updated 18 years, 3 months ago

Hi. I am a newbie to scripting. I have been using Autohotkey for some time, and are a bit familiar to that.

I have a laptop, Fuijutsu Siemens, Amilo M7400. My graphic card is Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller. Windows is my operating system. When I am home, I plug in an external monitor, Acer. But when I plug the vga in, I have to manually switch to this external screen by pressing ctr+alt+F1. Is there a way to automate this process, through a script, for example? So that the laptop detects when I connect this external display, and then send the keystrokes ctr+alt+F1? Thank you in adwance.

And… I am not very familiar with other programming lanuages, so a simple explanation on how to implement the code would be very appreciated.
