I have a windows 2000 network, with windows 2000 servers and workstations. I want all users to be logged off by 3:00 am so that there won’t be any open files that the backup will skip when it runs at 3:30. I’v told all users to shut their computers every night, but there are always those who forget and leave programs and files open. I therefor set all users not to be allowed to log on between 3:00 and 6:00 and I created a group policy applying to all domain users to automatically log off users when their log on time expires. For some reason this is not working. I often come in in the morning and find that the backup skipped many files, because there were users who left them open all night. when I go to computer manager and look at
the open sessions- I see that there are users who are logged on since yesterday. Do you have any ideas why the automatic logoff isn’t working? What can I do to make sure all users are logged off so that the backup can run properly?
