Automatic reconection on a DI-624S wireless router

by pavkaguru . Updated 18 years, 9 months ago

Could anybody help me? I have a D-Link DI-624S router attached to a cable modem, so I can move around home (upstairs and downstairs) with a laptop PC. Sometimes (actually many times within a same day) the router looses the IP address from the ISP, so I have to reboot it to get Internet connections back again. By reviewing the modem and router statuses, I discovered that the ISP dynamically changes the IP address, many times during the same session. That practice fools my router, because then it points to an address that no longer exists.

That’s why I have to continuosly reboot the router.

Is there a way that the router could automatically synchronize and renew the IP without rebooting?

Why this not affect to PCs directly attached to the cable modem?

Thanks a lot for your valuable support.
