Azure Virtual Desktop with Azure Active Directory Domain Services, user’s c

I set up Azure Virtual Desktop with Azure Active Directory Domain Services. I can login as local admin, to the VM’s, but domain users can’t log in with their UPN. When reviewing event logs on the VM, I see unknown user or bad password. Using c:\ dsregcmd /status I have verified that the VM’s are domain joined. When checking the User blade I get an error screen “Failed to retrieve assignments. There was an error retrieving assignments. Please refresh the page and try again.” How do I fix this error? Is this what is causing user’s to not be able to log-in?
