Backup Exec 11d backing up Buffalo Terastation Problems

by michael.mcgill . Updated 17 years, 6 months ago

Hello everyone! I am having an issue with Backup Exec properly communicating with a buffalo Terastation. I have read the many forums on TechRepublic as well as Symantec and Buffalo with no resolution. The issue that I am having is, as we’ve all heard before related to this issue, an access denied error in backup exec to the Terastation. I have verified that I am able to, under the account BESERVICE/Password, map and access the Buffalo NAS. Inside of backup exec, i had oringally entered an inclusion for \\NAS\Share, however, i found that I was able to push forward a bit more with \\172.16.1.150\share. However, the backups are still failing out, and byte size is not matching that of the NAS. I am able to obviously backup my C:\ on the server, but when it comes to the terastation, 0 bytes…..Any ideas since the last posts on these similiar issues. Buffalo was of no help to me whatsoever, and unfortunately, our service contract for Symantec has since expired with no option of re-applying. thank you to all for your help! Windows server 2003 with an active directory environment. NAS has been joined to the Active directory with it displaying under computers. Permissions: All are able to access under all domain logins, up to and including the BESERVICE.
