Backup in win2000 Server

I have installed a new win2000 server with high specifications,and i installed a Database on it,but when i trying to make a backup for 4 GB from the C: drive to D: for example it took more than 20 min,and i found this time is to long,is there any configuration should i do it ?
when iwas used the old server the backup was take only 9 min.
