BadTrans Infection & MS01-027

I have a question regarding the MS01-027 patch for Internet Explorer. Is that patch needed if IE 5.5 SP2 or IE 6 is installed ? The reason that I ask is because a Windows NT 4 SP6a, IE6 machine that I am responsible for was recently infected with BadTransB; however I am unsure if the browser was upgraded since the infection. Also does anyone know of any reliable sites that have an updated site that lists what hotfix levels products should be at eliminating all superseded patches. Thanks in advance.
