basic home networking question

In my home office I have a Linksys 4 port router with the 802.11a wireless connected to a cable modem. Until now, 4 ports have been sufficient, but now I need 5 connections with a possible 6th in the near future. I have an IBM 16 port switch which I haven’t put into the network yet because I haven’t needed it. Now that I need it, I’m not sure how it should be put into the mix. Is this the right configuration CABLE MODEM->LINKSYS ROUTER->IBM SWITCH->PC ?? Do I need any additional hardware? BTW, I’m not using the WAP capability of the router because I’ve found it’s pretty useless from floor to floor. Any ideas/suggestions are grealy appreciated!! Thanks.
