Batch File to Query internal Mail Server

Is it possible to create a batch file that will copy an email, from an internal Exchange mail server, that is sent to an email group and write that email to a folder on another drive?
The email contains data that will be used to update a file. The process that does the update is automated and does not require human intervention. The ?powers that be? wants a process that will take the email and drop it into a folder so the other process can pick it up from there and perform the update. The goal is to automate the process from beginning to end and avoid little or no human intervention. Not sure if this is possible but thought to ask.
I am not very good in creating batch files, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
