I have 2 IBM Netfinity servers. A 3500, which is the BDC, and a 7100, which is the PDC. Both servers have IBM netfinity 10/100 ethernet cards and also brand new Giga-Bit cards. Both servers were running off the 10/100 Mb cards because I had some workstation hardware conflicts on the gig cards(The workstation NICs are too old). Any way. We had a bad wind storm Tues night and lost power to our buildings. Our UPSs are on order but obviously not installed. Now the BDC will not see the PDC. In the event viewer I first got the yellow exclamation mark with the following error: browser unable to retrieve the list of servers from the browser master \\computername. Unable to make backup of master browser list. It throws this error about 5times then turns into the red error with basiclly the same message. Both servers are going thru a Cisco Catalyst 4006 switch. I can see the BDC in the Network Neighborhood from the PDC and also a workstation. I can also ping the BDC from all locations. I can not however see anyone in the Network Neighborhood on the BDC. It says that the PDC has as many connections as it can handle. I have plenty of licenses loaded so I dont think it’s a license problem. I have removed both NICs on the BDC and reinstalled them. It didnt fix the problem. I dont know what else to try. Does anyone have any Ideas? Please help!!!!!
