Beginner CDrom problem

I need to get the cdrom to work.

I loaded Solaris 7.0 for x86. I cannot get the CDrom to be recognized. I loaded the OS from CD. I use the CDE and attempt to open the CDrom from the GUI and nothing appears to occur. There is no /cdrom directory.
