Beginner Optical Networking Book

Hey all,

I am new to the optical networking phenomenom. I need a book to get me started. Currently my place of employment uses PON (passive optical networking). I need something to explain optical networking to me and then move on to PON networks.

Can anyone point me to a beginners book that either includes PON or two a book to read after on PON.
