behind a network firewall and need to find open ports for bittorrent client

I’m staying at halls of residence and they’ve got network firewalls so most ports I’ve tried to use with my bit-torrent client come off as blocked and unavailable and I thought I’d ask and see if anyone knows of a way to locate any open ports that I can use or if anyone knows of ports that windows is already using that I can use since I’m not able to open them up myself.
