Best Linux Server Distro for Compatibility

Hi there! I am a newer programmer looking to setup a basic server for some website hosting practice. The machine I have to work with is an:
IBM NETFINITY 5000
rel 1998.
CPU: Pentium III @ 550 MHz
2gb ram DIMM 168 pin
HDD Ultra Wide SCSI @ 7200 rpm
