Binary Level Scan

Does anyone know of any Software, I believe it would fall under the forensics catagory that will can the system at the binary level looking for key or dirty words. I need this software to be resource friendly and automated if possible. Instead of stopping on the word maybe building a list or output file or something. Thank you very much.
