BIOS?

HI!
I was working on a machine, (AMD K6-2, 64mb RAM) and I started getting all these errors. I don’t remember what they were exactly, but when I looked them up on Microsoft’s KB, it said it was a hardware issue. Took the machine to a local computer repair shop, and they said the BIOS was flashed with the wrong version. But, I didn’t flash the BIOS! This guy refered to as idiot) told me that this machine is shot. Now, can’t the BIOS be replaced with a new chip? All I’ll need is a ROM Pullerright? Thanks, JAKE
