Oh god…..
Here is a hard one…..let’s begin.
i was on my friends comp and i was trying to get it all fixed up cause it ran slow as hell, he bought a video card it is a geforce 6200 and it was working just fine. it ran kinda laggy though on that card…dont know why….anyways.
it was running in the comp, he has a agp mobo and bought a pci video cad so his old video card was a agp new is pci. anyways. so i was downloading the new drivers and everything and got a little carried away and tried to delete some old ones, i think the scren was system properties or something, it had a list of things on his comp. one of which said nvidia geforce 6200. wanted to delete that driver so i clicked it and hit delete. asked to restart and i agreed. upon restarting the bios screen showed up, the splash screen and right after that…….blackness. so i plugged the monitor cable into the video card on the mobo, still black, although it is receiving a signal on the pci card cause the monitor turn on, just a BLACK SCREEN. tried safe mode, same thing, tried going to most recent config that worked. same thing. tried it all.
then i got a win xp disk from a friend,….this is where it gets tricky. he no longer has his cd key, he threw it away. so its on the comp just cant get to it.
i went to the recovery console and did a chkdsk /r and it said it fixed 1 problem or more, yay i thought. restarted and nothing happened.
decided to do a repair install….went through just fine and restarted….right after the splash screen it shows up with a blue screen and says…..setup is being restarted………………………..and thats all it does, forever.
so i tried it again, same thin happened.
though i would go back into the recovery console and i did a fix mbr and a fix boot AND i did a listsvc and found the nvidia driver (i think) and it was set to auto, so i did disable (and the driver name it showed) said it was disabled and i did a chkdsk /r again fixboot an exit.
now it still goes back to the black screen. and sometimes when i try to boot into safe mode, the bar apears below and stops when it gets to the end.
I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO.
i have tried to describe everything that i have done, throw in there a couple more repair installs and thats everything…….
someone PLEASE help me!!!
