Hello
I assembled a pc with Pentium IV 631, Intel(R) Desktop D945GCCR motherboard, Seagate (SATA) HDD (80 GB), RAM DDR 512, 80 GB SATA HDD etc. And while installing Windows 2000 Advance Server, I created three NTFS partitions.
Then I installed SAP (full version) which takes several hours to complete and configure. My OS and the SAP were working fine, except that there was neither any sound nor recognition of any plug-n-play device. Moreover, the Device Manager showed yellow triangles besides both USB & PCI Controllers.
Since the CD supplied with the motherboard has no USB driver, I was unable to install the same; hence, my system was unable to detect any plug & play USB device.
Its Audio driver, too, failed to install.
I downloaded a USB driver from the Intel?s website, and installed the same; it worked fine.
But while trying to update the PCI driver and install the Audio driver which were obtained from the Intel?s website, my system stopped working altogether. And an Error Message is displayed (on a blue screen) when I boot Windows 2000 Advanced Server (it occurs even when I try to re-install the said OS from the installation CD); the Message reads as under:-
?*** This version is not PCI compliant ?
Press F7 when prompted ?
However, PCI will be disabled and the installation will continue ?
STOP: 0x0000007E (0xc0000005, 0xF854A0BF, 0xF8996208, 0xF8995F08)
pci.sys-address F854A0BF base at F8543000, DateStamp 3b7d855c?
And when I tried to install Windows XP on the same machine (with a view to use the Mini-SAP version), there was again a blue screen with the following Message, instead:-
“***STOP: 0x000000A5 (0x000000A5 (0x00000003, 0x81FCC338, 0xC0000034, 0x494E495F)
ACPI BIOS, this system is not fully compliant with the ACPI specifications ….”
AFTER THE SAID MESSAGE, THE SYSTEM HANGS.
I rebooted, and tried to re-install Windows 2000 Advance Server; it started loading. But after copying all the files, it again displayed the same very Message — even after I had removed the CD (from which I was installing the said two updated drivers) from the CD ROM.
[The said CD was the one to which I had copied the downloaded (updated) drivers. I had to use the CD because the USB was not being detected by the system, and neither USB nor PCI were working at all; hence, I could not use even the Internet from that machine.]
Now, Intel says that their said Board is not compatible with Windows 2000 Advance Server, and the said OS does not have the necessary USB and Audio drivers. Their reply is appended at the end of this e-mail, please.
I also read somewhere that while installing the downloaded Audio drivers, the ACPI is at times automatically disabled.
Windows 2000 Advance Server is installed on my C: drive, and SAP is on the next ones. I do not wish to re-install SAP all over again, PLEASE.
I can enter the C MOS.
I am IT savvy but not adept in DOS.
Kindly HELP asap.
Have a nice day
