Blue screen, only mouse cursor visible

Hi All,

I’m stumped, my Exchange server suddenly shows no desktop, only the mouse cursor is visible on a blue screen. Pressing ctrl-alt-del does nothing, clicking or right-clicking the mouse does nothing.

I used a command prompt from another server and told it to reboot the Exchange server in 30 seconds. The monitor of the Exchange server showed a countdown screen that it was going to reboot. It never rebooted, however, that shows that the KVM, video card and monitor all work OK.

Running Windows Server 2003.

Can anyone give me a clue for what to do? I don’t want to yank the power and risk corrupting the Exchange server and yet, I need to be able to log onto it today.
