Boot From USB Key

Is it possible to boot from a USB Memory Key.
I have a Kingston Data Traveler 64Mb.
Dell have a utility to make the key bootable but does not work on a Samsung or Kingston Stick, error message missing Operating System. I have tried forcing with Fdisk /MBR but does not work.
