Bootp DHCP question

We have various sites in our organization,
currently we are using manual IP configuration
and want to go over to DHCP. Trouble is that
another site wants to manage our DHCP
leases from another subnet. Would this
mean we would need to enable Bootp on our
routers to lease the IP’s Has anyone had any
experience with this and what type of impact
does it have on a network?? Thanks!
