Both CD Roms Don’t work

I’m Using ME and both primary and secondary IDE controllers are flagged as not working stating I must re-star. Each time I re-start the systems comes up and says I must restart to complete installation of new devices. Both CD Roms are not working asthey are attached to these controllers. Everything had been working fine. Not sure what changed. Also this is a dual boot machine and when I boot 2000 one of the CD works fine and neither the controllers or the cd are flaged in the device manager. Any Ideas?
