External SSD

I have an HP desktop running Windows 11. I recently purchased a Samsung T7 external SSD primarily for Photo storage. I’m not techno-illiterate but this is my first time with external storage. I would like to know the best filing structure to use for ease of importing to and retrieving from when using a photo editor (Photoshop Elements). I know it sounds simple, but I don’t like the trial-and-error approach. I would like it to mimic the Photos section that comes with Windows in File Explorer.
