I?m a network administrator and have been asked to setup a brand new Domain. I will be using Dell Server with a Netgear Firewall, Server 2003 Enterprise with XP Clients only. I have a good knowledge and experience. I have the Server up and running.
I have 3 Managers that will need to have control over their department computers (enough control to add/remove programs, run defrag, ect..). I also have 1 manager who will need to run backups on the OMD software which will be running from the server. All users will be using the OMD software. Roaming profiles will be used.
What I would like to know is tips in setting up Security, Sites and OU’s. Creating fundamental logon.bat files. (for roaming profiles and logging into the OMD software). I have created a template user to copy everyone with, using the %username% and have created a “home” drive for everyone to map to the Z: drive.
And anything else I you might think I need to do?
