Building a new domain

Hello,

I recently got the opportunity to build a domain from scratch. What are some best practices and methods of building the server architecture. Further what are some best practices involving Active directory? Which types of servers do I need to have (DNS, DC, Client servers, Certifing Authorities etc…) Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have on premises servers available to build the domain.
