Building a small form home server – reducing noise and heat levels

Hello,

I’m currently building a small form computer to use as an home server (stockage, remote access, streaming, ftp, etc.).

I’ll leave it in my room with my computer, so I don’t want the server to produce too much heat / noise. It already gets hot in the room when the computer has been running for a while.

I’m thinking about an AMD X255 for the CPU, and WD Caviar green for hard drives, since they are suposed to be 5400rpm.
I think I’ll go with an integrated video chipset for reduced heat / noise.

Should I go for an aftermarket heatsink / cooler ? Is there anything I shouldn’t overlook?

Thanks
