Building your own MPLS

Hi,

Is it possible to replace the MPLS provider core and provider edge routers with a single layer-3 switch so as to build one’s own MPLS network with BGP without subcribing to a telco’s MPLS service? For example, if there are 10 sites, there will be 10 point-to-point links connected to the layer-3 switch, each going to the respective 10 sites.
