Business Grade Routing

I am the new network Tech at my company, and when I got here I noticed that their security is definitely not what it should be,even for a small business.

I have recently started pushing for a new firewall/router, possibly with other features like virus scanning, and spam filtering functions.

I have looked around, and actually worked for a company that did support for a company that created firewalls, so I do have some knowledge on them, but business class routers are expensive, so I am basically looking for a piece of hardware that will give me the most bang for my buck, since it is a fairly small business I don’t have a whole lot of finances to work with.

If anyone could recommend some systems that have worked for them I am all ears.
