Maybe someone could help me with this perdicament. I made a 25 ft. patch cable to connect a laptop to a cable/dsl nat router for a home LAN. Unfortunately now I only get download speeds at around 50 kbps when connected to the laptop. I figured it was a faulty cable, so i tried using the cable in another machine. Turns out, the same cable transmits beautifully on a desktop computer (now runs at 850 kbps). I tried using another(storebought) network cable on the laptop. It did fine with 2 other different cables. The only one giving me problems is the one i made. But it seems to work fine with the other machine. This is making my head spin trying to figure out why this is happening. I would love any suggestions anyone may have for me. Thanks..
