I need help and additional information on these two threats “XP Antivirus 2008” and “Antivirus 2008”. Can this type of trojan malware be spread of a business network. We run a Novell network system and have the PC’s locked down by using a combination of Windows and Novell policies to restrict what to use you can do with the PC. A couple days ago, over 50 PCs were infected in one day by a combination of “XP Antivirus 2008” or “Antivirus 2008”. Some of my colleagues think that these are a worm program and spread themselves through our network, I tend to believe that they came from e-mail or music web sites. We use Norton antivirus enterprise edition to protect the PC’s, however this malware walked right through the antivirus and actually shut it down. Any help would be greatly appreciated and any information of a removal tool that doesn’t have to be installed, a standalone program that could be ran over the network automatically to remove it from the PC’s and it would need to take less than 10 minutes to do this.
