Can BES server be used with other mail server softwares?

My organisation wants to acquire BES server, and I am wondering wheter it will work with my mailserver. I use Icewarp and its doing my job perfectly well for me.
But the introduction of Blackberry Enterprise Server is a bit of a concern to me.
Please advise.
