can browse with netscape but cant with I

I am using 56k dialup. However, when I surf internet with IE5, I got the error that
“cant find the server or DNS error”
I’ve tried to configure the proxy in IE and DNS in tcp/ip setting. It still doesnt work.
However, I can surf internet with netscape without setting proxy.
Can anyone help?
