Can I break a partitioned hard-drive?

Is it possible to break a partiion on a hard-drive? If so, how? I have an older computer with 3Gg hard-drive that is partitioned into a C: and D: drive, each drive being 1.5 Gg of storage. I want to break the D: partition with an ending result of a 3Gg C: drive.
