Can I use a VPN?

Is anyone out there using a VPN to connect two LAN’s together? We are in the process of choosing software to run our Printing/Direct Mail/Fulfillment business. We have two locations and wanted to host the servers at our main office. There will be about 10 office users and six data collection terminals at the remote location. We are considering using CITRIX to do this. I guess the question is, will a VPN be reliable enough to connect our two locations or would a frame relay be better? Any help Ican get would be greatly appreciated!
