can MS Proxy and AOL coexist?

A Dell Inspirion 5000e w/ Millennium is set up for business/home use. MS Proxy provides an internet connection while the client is attached to their business NT domain via dialup. The client also want to be able to use AOL 6.0 from a normal AOL dialup when not attached to their NT domain. Proxy is working fine, but AOL will not browse the internet by name or IP address. Need a solution that will allow both modes of connection to coexist.
