Can my mac mini be connected to both ethernet and airport

I have 3 macs in my house that connect to an airport express. However, the mac mini is a bit of a distance from the ae but close to a second ethernet socket.
Can I connect the macmini to the internet via the ethernet connection but still connect to the local network via airport?
