Can Unix print through a computer to an attached printer?

We have one computer that has a Unix app. that we need. In order to print to our printers, we have to use Jet Direct cards. The Jet Directs are connected to the printers directly and have IP addresses assigned to them. We print to the IP addresses assigned to the Jet Direct and it sends the message to the printer. Is there a way to get the Unix computer to print to the IP address of the computer and have it print to the attached printer?
