Cannot access Remote Desktop Access

I have successfully used Remote Desktop Access on this PC in the past by using a shortcut. However it has quit working. Upon further investigation, I have discovered that it is not even listed in All Programs,Communications. I then tried downloading a new instance of it from the Web, but it would not install, getting the error message that it is a part of Win XP Pro, which I am running. How do I find it again and start using it?
